Gothtober 11th: Haunted Bus Stop

“It’s hard to compile 30 hours of bus stop footage into three minutes” said Alex Kenefick, who decided to haunt his neighborhood bus stop to see how locals might react. He put the weirdest freakiest stuff out by the bus stop, like skulls and gravestones and cobwebs. It was very interesting to see the many things that happened, lots of it ended up on the cutting room floor.

Here are some things that were cut from the movie:
1.) 2 guys who walk by and make out
2.) People stealing all the headstones and skulls
3.) Plerplexed elderly woman dressed in orange
4.) Moped guy zooming through traffic
5.) A blowing, drifting bag in the street
6.) Vibrant green taxi cab

Alex’s goal is to get crazy and TRULY HAUNT a bus stop for a long amount of time next year, so please contact Gothtober if you want to help him, it will be lots of fun!

This now famous bus stop is in Los Angeles, and it’s on 6th and Westmoreland. Visit it in person, or online at Gothtober DAY 11!

Fast Food Freak-Out for Gothtober Day 10

Finally a peek into the world of about 40 bucks worth of actual fast food in a natural urban habitat. Everyone does commentary ABOUT fast food, but we never get to see what the fast food is actually doing, and here is that rare chance.

Morrison and Howe’s fast food films will leave a lasting historical impact on future generations, their work, frankly, transcends the genre. See how McNuggets are nurtured, witness the aggression of the wild Big Mac, and stay tuned for the inevitable conclusion…

What’s Halloween Mean Again?!? Ask DAY 9!!!

And now for a classic from 1962, that fantastic hit from Garpax Records, The Meaning of Halloween by The Questionnaires (featuring The Quizzical Witch). No known copy of this 45 existed until we found it in the basement of a haunted house in Pasadena! Preserved in its original paper sleeve, it was inside a box of caterpillar lollipops from 1971. Much more than some obscure artifact, The Meaning of Halloween epitomizes the feeling one has when they just can’t quite grasp or understand all there is to know about that special day on October 31st! Give it a listen and get your ghosty groove on, it’s the most exciting find in Halloween vinyl EVER!!!

Evil Magical Children – Day 8’s David LeBarron

Big and small people of all ages will dig David LeBarron’s spooky story that is FREE for download! Jennimaya’s Revenge is part of a collection of six tales that will be available on David’s Stories from a Magical World . David’s stories are never full of boring princesses that wait to be saved by knights in shining armor, David’s princesses are more likely to get out there and duke it out with the villains themselves.

Frankly, David’s storytelling skills are so deft, he could invent a story about your tax returns that you would actually want to hear. He spins yarns of fascination and enchantment with charm and aplomb. It’s a real Halloween treat to have him aboard this year!

Romantic Monster Encounters (DAY 6)

Monsters are rumored to be inherently impractical with their uncontrollable urges, hideousness and general tendency to either mess up your life or mess up your stuff. Face it: you see a monster coming, and you cross the street or try to act natural so it doesn’t notice you and do something horrible like suck all the blood out of your body or spit acidic bile all over your car.
But monsters are not, as you may think, freaks of nature.
Monsters are as natural as anyone else, capable of great and terrible things, like you or me.
From the sketchbooks of Nyssa Oru, Northern California illustrator extraordinaire, are six rare portraits of LGBT supernatural beings enjoying each other as loving, caring creatures.
This is Nyssa’s third Gothtober, she’s been drawing monsters awhile, plus a few other things besides, and if you wish to wander off task in a productive way, visit here to see more of Nyssa’s work.

Day 5 at Headstone’s!

Headstone’s Restaurant was spawned from the idea that citizens everywhere deserve better tasting eats – sustenance that is made-to-order and priced at a value that’s hard to beat! Founded by experienced experts with an open-minded spirit, Headstone’s over-the-top variety of new flavors became an instant hit! With a variety of traditional and gluten-free treats served hot, fresh and served with a smile, the people were hooked, and the world of cookie cutter corporate fast food establishments changed forever.

We called the President and CEO of Headstone’s, Cosmo Segurson, to ask him what brought him the groundbreaking vision for the country’s best new franchise idea and he said “Hey, I’m just a regular guy, it’s a simple idea: ya gotta stay healthy, you are what you eat, you know?”

What’s the secret to Headstone’s unparalleled excellence of big hold flavor? We may never know, but come on down and try it for yourself, we here at Gothtober can’t get enough of it!

Do You Believe in Ghosts? Watch Day 4

Rincy Samucake and Julianna(JP)Parr went out into the Los Angeles landscape and made a weirdo movie about restless spirits.

Rincy’s space metal band made the music, JP filmed the spirits in their restlessness.

Is it more comfortable to be restless rather than restful? Is one’s temptation from abiding with the moment a type of apparitional diversion?

When you’ve lost someone, how much of  yourself do you also lose, and do you ever get any of it back and do ghosts care about any of this? Is it all in your mind? Is it the fantods, or you, or is it both?

Do ghosts get mad if you forget them, and do they live in sewers and abandoned lots where people eat sandwiches in their cars all by themselves?
