Gothtober Remembrances 2018
Halloween began as the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, marking the moment when the veil between the dead and the living was lifted, and the two worlds could commune. For about 2000 years, October 31st meant bidding adieu to summer, preparing for winter, and remembering the departed.
We give tribute to those we love who have passed on, because Gothtober and Halloween are definitely about pumpkin spice, but also we acknowledge the end of the harvest, and the end of life. Here we honor and remember the departed. You will never be forgotten. Cor Cordium.

Rosie the Pig, survivor of hurricanes, wild pig on the pig sanctuary, pig on the road, pig of pigs, a friend to all, one of the very first STARS of Gothtober in her breakout hit “What to Wear” by Helen Hill and Paul Gailiunas! This pig loved banana slices, parties, being cozy, and all her kitty friends. We love you Rosie, please give Helen all our love when you see her.

Hazelnut, so named by Chicken for her fuzzy nutty ways
OliveFigTree for the wild mutt who chased rabbits on the runways
of Paris airport and rode subways by herself.
One day, blind and lame, she walked off into the mountains.

A Beast dog, as they call them here, lived off the land
cracking almonds and digging up grubs.
He has the beacon to our new home and once he saw us settled
