Will she cut her own wrists? Hijack a plane? Enter into an eternal blood oath with Lucifer himself? What terrible horror awaits you, dear viewer?!

Oh wait. What’s that cute little pie doing there? Hang on, let me check my notes. OH. It’s Jessica Hlavac, the mad genius behind i’m so tiny, where she showcases minuscule foods meticulously crafted with her very own, non-threatening hands! She makes everything from breakfast to dessert, all about the size of a quarter. You know, that thing in your pocket that’s only about an inch in diameter? Yeah, that. Just look at this croissant sandwich sitting on one of them:

She even admits to being a little crazy, having “made a whole damn tiny ham just to slice it up” and make perfect ham slice edges for this diminutive sandwich. CAN YOU STAND IT.

So here we are, on Day 2 of Gothtober 2011, wondering what sort of miniature madness Miss Hlavac has cooked up this time. Ok, it’s a pie. But if you think you can follow her steps and make your own pie, as if the sheer smallness and perfectness of her handiwork isn’t mind-boggling enough… well, she’s thrown you yet another curve ball. Just try and catch it.

There are 38 steps up to Gothtober Headquarters, and lugging Jason Pipkin’s drum kit up all of them made us appreciate each and every step even more than usual. We are quite fortunate to have the Electones on board to make beautiful tunes to cruise to as you peruse this year’s Gothtober 2009 calendar.
The Electones are, respectively: Jason Myers on Guitar, Mike Bolger on Keyboard, and the aforementioned Jason Pipkin on drums. The boys filled up the living room with all manner of musical gadgets, not the least of which was a fantastic Leslie-style rotating speaker that Jason built and Mike’s lovely electric keyboard made in 1971.
Check out what happens when you give the Electones coffee and popcorn and ask them to play some intermission music for the Gothtober Drive-In! This music will be sweetened and used as the calendar’s main theme… look for it Gothtober FIRST!!! Woooooooo!

Driving along the highway in your convertible on a late summer evening, this sign beckons you to pull in, clip the speaker to your window, and get ready to see the spooky double-feature. Don’t forget to swing by the concession stand for some popcorn and hotdogs!
